Tears used to keep my heart soft,
Now it is like they have given up,
Compassion tired of going to waste.
When is it going to be enough?
Enough hate, enough blood,
Enough power, enough real estate?
Have all those corpses and dismembered bodies
mass-xanaxed your insecurities?
Insatiable lust for power,
Not even beasts.
Humanness running in energy-save mode,
Running dry on outrage,
Running dry on prayers,
Running dry on hope.
Rotten love,
Unable to overflow,
Unable to heal,
Unable to penetrate,
The sarcophagus of our souls.
